Day 3 - Tuesday, March 18
One of the things we did today was serve meals to families in the community. We delivered meals to 4 families. We were to delivery the meals, provided a blessing for the home, and a prayer. In my group we had two ladies from the co-op, our interpreter Elongi and 4 from JK. In our group we delivered to two homes.
Nan, who is also the principal at the school, provided the blessing and Elongi interpreted for us. Each unique blessing for Lisa and Janie wasbeautiful and perfectly suited for each of these lovely ladies and their homes. We could feel God’s love in the home. Lisa, was so grateful to us and wanted to know all our names. She blessed us as well. She was so full of gratitude and joy. Her face was just radiating with God’s love. Lisa wanted us to pray for her family and her mom who has cancer. Lilian prayed a beautiful prayer over Lisa, her mom, and the home.
At Janie’s, Nan, included in her blessing a beautiful poem and we didn’t need any interpretation as it was so powerful and you could see God’s love and gratitude on Janie’s face. She is a single mom of 2, a teacher at the school. She wanted us to pray for her family. Walker prayed a beautiful prayer for her and her family. She then blessed us with a beautiful song.
The women’s co-op started delivering meals when they saw the need during the pandemic. The meals consist of food so they can prepare the meals in their own home. A couple bags of rice, 2 dozen eggs, oil, beans, and various pantry staples. You can tell that this ministry is important to the Women’s Co-op and the community is so grateful. May God bless the hands that create the meals.
The founders of Mission Emmanuel wanted to be here where they could be an inch wide and a mile deep. It has been amazing to be a part of the mile deep. This community has blessed us in so many ways. I am so grateful to be a part of this JK group and to be able to contribute to this community in Cielo.
